Meet our CIBTAC Tutor 2019 Winner

CIBTAC Tutor Winner 2019 Tara O’Halloran Cronin talks about winning her award..

They craft, mentor and educate the beauty therapists of the future so to be awarded CIBTAC tutor is no mean feat as Tara knows all too well.

What does winning this award mean to you?

I have delivered CIBTAC qualifications for 20 years this year, so winning the award has energised and motivated me to look forward to developing the next 20 years with such pride. To be recognised by the premier awarding body in Beauty Therapy as Tutor of the year is an amazing achievement. My trainees are so proud and the industry supporting their employment in my area of Co. Kerry have been celebrating with us.

What made you want to apply?

I felt that the opportunity to network and share ideas with the best of the best in training providers would be a fabulous experience.

What was the toughest part of the application process?

This was tough in respect of deciding how to illustrate you passion, motivation and full career in writing. In the end, my trainees assisted me with their feedback.

In your opinion what makes a stand out tutor?

My trainees enable me to become a stand out tutor. Their learning journeys, stories and successes enable me to become the happiest cheerleader and mentor in Ireland.

What’s on your to-do list for 2020?

We are opening The Kerry College of Beauty here in Co. Kerry so I will be delivering classes on the full time CIBTAC, ITEC and CIDESCO provision with our Beauty Therapy Instructing team. I will of course be considering my options in training within beauty therapy further education with the award of €10,000 in training as tutor of the year so it is very exciting.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about applying for the awards next year?

Go for it!! To be a finalist and to meet the incredible professional CIBTAC Team, the global finalists and supporting companies was a brilliant experience. Winning has been a privilege and I feel so lucky to have been chosen.
